Frequently Asked Questions About gDNA Samples
Below you will find some of the questions that we are frequently asked concerning gDNA samples. If you have a question that is not listed below, please contact us.
What quantity of gDNA do we need for library preparation service?
We require 1 - 5 µg (with an A260/280 ≥1.8) at a minimum concentration of 200 ng/µL for service orders.
What buffers, tubes, etc. do you require for gDNA service orders?
gDNA should be in dissolved in TE buffer and shipped in 1.5 mL centrifuge tubes. Please include the identifying information of the sample on both the top and the side of the tube such as sample number, sample name, concentration, and quantity, matching the sample submission form.
The DNA is stable, so can we ship the sample at room temperature?
DNA is stable, but we do not want anything to happen during shipping. If there is a problem, then we likely will not see it until sequencing is complete. It is preferred that dry ice or ice packs be used during the shipping process.
